ServSafe training through Greene County Extension

Food service providers are concerned about food safety issues. We live in a time when food safety hazards are prevalent. Today’s consumer is much more aware and concerned about food safety and food borne illnesses, which makes the provider’s role even more critical. ServSafe provides food safety training for restaurant and other food service managers and professionals to meet the industry standards and obligation to consumers.

This specialized training, offered through Iowa State University Extension & Outreach, will be held Tuesday, July 28, in Jefferson at the Greene County Extension office. Sessions begin at 8:30 am and run until 4:30 pm, with the exam to follow. Instructor is Katie Knobbe, ISUE&O Nutrition & Wellness program specialist.

There are several options available with cost ranging from $75-$150, depending on whether the participant needs to be certified through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
